Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups mashed, ripe bananas
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts, or semisweet chocolate chips, optional
Directions
- Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt together; set aside. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add flour mixture alternately with banana. Stir only enough to blend after each addition. Pour into greased loaf/bread pan.
- Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack, and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator if not eating immediately.
